Monday...starting at 10:00 a.m. with a course called "Intercultural competence"...Jette is there to take us through...

Pondělí...začínáme v 10:00 kurzem nazvaným "Multikulturní kompetence"... a Jette je zde aby nás ním provedla...

...interculural learning...means meeting other cultures and learning from them...that´s what we are doing here pretty much...and intercultural competence...having an ability to actually accept other cultures and to learn from them...

...multikulturní učení...znamená setkávání se s jinými kulturami a učení se z nich...to je oč v podstatě běží na Erasmu...a multikulturní kompetence...tak to je schopnost ostatní kultury přijmout a učit se od nich...

...we again discussed the term "Culture" but this time from a theoretical point of view...according to Geert Hofstede there are four main elements...values (these form the roots), rituals (behaviour - ways of greeting, feasts, traditions, customs...), heroes (famous people - alive or dead, fictional - serve as role models for the members of the culture) and finally symbols (words, artefacts and nonverbal behavior...flags, songs..)...

...znovu přišel na přetřes termín "Kultura", tentokrát ale z teoretického hlediska...podle Geerta Hofstedeho obsahuje čtyři hlavní složky....hodnoty (ty tvoří kořeny), rituály (chování - způsob zdravení, svátky, tradice, zvyky...), hrdinové (slavní lidé - živí či mrtví, smyšlení - slouží jako vzory pro členy dané kultury) a konečně symboly (slova, artefakty a mimoslovní chování...vlajky, písně...)...

...3 aspects of intercultural competence: 1) cognitive dimension (the knowledge of the world) 2) behavioral dimension (behavior, understanding...) 3) affective dimension (emotional base, environment, relationships...)

...3 hlediska multikulturní kompetence: 1) kognitivní dimenze (znalost světa) 2) behaviorální dimenze (chování, pochopení...) 3) emocionální dimenze (emoční základ, prostředí, vztahy...)

...after this lesson there was something I was very anxious to see....a boarding school...we had to take a bus to get to a little village called Hoptrup...there we were to observe for the whole afternoon how this type of school works...this boarding school, Hoptrup Efterskole, is a private institution, where children come to take their ninth or tenth year...and they live here...

...po této hodině přišlo něco, co jsem byla dychtivá vidět...internátní škola...museli jsme jet autobusem do malé vesničky Hoptrup...tam jsme měli celé odpoledne pozorovat, jak typ takovéto školy funguje...tato internátní škola, Hoptrup Efterskole, je soukromou institucí, kde děti studují 9. nebo 10. ročník...a také tu žijí...

...the Hoptrup Efterskole has a special focus on music, dance and drama...it is a very lively place...

...Hoptrup Efterskole se zaměřuje hodně na hudbu, tanec a drama...je to místo plné života...

...it really struck me...Signe, a teacher here and also a former student of Jette, wellcomed as very warmly...and two students took as on the school tour...we got a "pirate" guide...:-)...yeah...artists really are true individualities...I just loved his "parrot earing"...

...byl to velice silný zážitek...Signe, místní učitelka a bývalá studentka Jette nás uvítala doslova s otevřenou náručí...a dva žáci nás po škole provedli...měli jsme za průvodce "piráta"...jo...umělci jsou prostě osobnosti...jeho náušnice - papoušek - mě prostě fascinovala...

...we saw where they eat together, where they sleep, where they spent their free time, where they have their lessons and where they perform...everything seemed very home-like...posters, paintings, and of course mess everywhere...:-)

...viděli jsme kde společně jedí, kde spí, kde tráví volný čas, kde probíhají hodiny a kde mají vystoupení...vše působilo velice domácky...plakáty, obrazy, a samozřejmě nepořádek...:-)

...an English lesson...starting at 13:15...they all seemed to like being at the school and feeling very free...the relationship with their teacher was very friendly...but they listened to her when she needed their attention and were not rude or anything...

...hodina Angličtiny...začátek ve 13:15...všichni působili velice uvolněně a jako by byli ve škole rádi...vztah mezi studenty a učitelkou byl velmi přátelský...a poslouchali jí, když bylo potřeba aby dávali pozor a nebyli drzí...

...it was a 10th grade and the level of the students was very good....the lesson begun with a fun activity...we all were to write down a situation...and then in pairs perform it as the teacher randomly chose one of them...out of us only Daniel and Tim were brave enough to do so...however the students enjoyed it very much...they were not shy at all (but they are used to performing...so..)...some situations: two boys mounting biking, a boy stealing an ice-cream from a girl, two old people walking down the street and hit by a car...

...byla to "desítka" a úroveň studentů byla velmi dobrá...hodina začala zábavnou aktivitou...všichni jsme měli napsat na kus papíru nějakou situaci...a pak ve dvojicích předvést tu, kterou učitelka náhodně vybrala...z nás odvahu našel jen Daniel a Tim...ale studenti si to užívali...ani trochu se nestyděli (jsou na předvádění se zvyklí...takže...)...některé ze situací: dva chlapci na kole v horách, kluk krade dívce zmrzlinu, dva důchodci jdou ulicí a porazí je auto..

...following activity included us...class was divided into three groups and each group got their "own" Erasmus students...they were to introduced themselves and we did so too...then they had prepared some questions for us...I was surprised how well they are able to speak English...it was a nice chat...and for them probably a great experience...as for us..

...do následující aktivity zahrnula učitelka nás...třída byla rozdělena do tří skupin a každá skupina dostala "své" Erasmus studenty...měli se nám představit a my pak udělali to samé...měli pro nás připravené otázky...a mě mile překvapilo, jak dobře byli schopní mluvit anglicky...dobře jsme si pokecali...pro ně i pro nás to byla velmi zajímavá zkušenost...

...last part of the lesson was focused on a revision of South Africa...in the same groups they made a "mind map" and presented it to us...

...konec hodiny byl zaměřen na opakování o jižní Africe...ve stejných skupinách vytvořili "myšlenkovou mapu" a tu nám odprezentovali...

...and the best at the end...the pirate and his "guitarman" sang us a song they had composed for the South Africa project...happiness and joy is the only thing I can recall now...

...to nejlepší nakonec...pirát a jeho kytarista nám zazpívali píseň, kterou složili pro projekt o jižní Africe...štěstí a radost je jediné co mi teď vyvstalo na mysli...

...after the English class...we went to see a "dancing class"...there were two taking place at the same moment...so we spent one hour watching girls learning some technical stuff concerning dancing (twists and turns...) and then a group of girls who had a choreography class with Signe...it was a wonderful experience....I would love to go to such a kind of school if I was 15 or 16 years old...well, to be honest...maybe even now...

...po hodině angličtiny...jsme navštívili hodinu tance...probíhaly dvě ve stejnou dobu...hodinu jsme tak pozorovali dívky jak se učí nějakým technickým věcem týkajících se tance (otočky...) a pak skupinu dívek, které měli hodinu choreografie se Signe...úžasný zážitek...hned bych do takové školy nastoupila, kdyby mi bylo 15 nebo 16...no, abych pravdu řekla...tak klidně i teď...

...we got back home after 6:00 p.m. ... I worked a bit on my blog and talked to friends on Skype...and I managed to get to bed before midnight...:-)

...domů jsme se dostali po 18:00...udělala jsem nějakou práci na blogu a pokecala s kamarády na Skypu...a pro jednou jsem zalehla před půlnocí...:-)
