...what do we see in the mirror when we look in it?...that´s the question we were trying answer on Wednesday morning...we had a wonderful art class with Dorthe Rizzi...and even though I have experience with drawing and painting from the past (studied art in the high school and I study it at the university now) I was thrilled by all the different ways she worked with and the teaching methods how to do a self-portrait...it was a wonderful journey of exploring our own abilities...we started with just a few fast portrait sketches of the others in the room...and everyone got better and better...then we got a mirror and did a sketch of our own face following by a "blind drawing sketch"...finally we painted our own face on the mirror in acrylic colours...and we made prints out of this (this had to be done very quickly because the colours dried very fast) and later on we used them as the basis for a self-portrait in oil pastels...I myself never tried anything like that before and knowing I should not praise myself I can´t help it but have to say that I am quite proud of the final product...

...co vidíme v zrcadle, když do něj pohlédnem?...to je otázka, na kterou jsme se snažili najít odpověď ve středu ráno...měli jsme úžasnou hodinu umění s Dorthe Rizzi...a přestože mám zkušenost s kreslením a malováním (studovala jsem výtvarku na střední škole a studuji ji i teď na univerzitě) byla jsem unešená všemi těmi způsoby a metodami, které Dorthe použila aby nám ukázala jak na autoportrét...byl to obdivuhodný výlet za objevováním našich schopností...začali jsme tím, že jsme nakreslili několik velmi rychlých skic ostatních v místnosti...a všichni se s každou zlepšovali...potom jsme dostali zrcadlo a skicovali svůj obličej, následně pak i bez dívání se na papír a jen do zrcadla...nakonec jsme malovali autoportréty akrylovými barvami přímo na zrcadlo...a dělali z výtvorů tisky (to muselo být prováděno velmi rychle, protože barvy zasychaly), které jsme pak použili jako základ autoportrétu v olejovém pastelu...já sama jsem nic takového před tím nezkoušela...a přesto, že vím, že člověk by se neměl chválit sám, nemohu si pomoci a musím říct, že jsem na finální produkt celkem hrdá...

...the day before I was trying to find dried mushrooms in a shop...but wasn´t succesful...I decided to give it a last try just before the international cooking class we were having at 12:30...and I was lucky...in Fotex, supermarket next to the school, they had them...they were bloody expensive...but what would be a Czech "potato soup" like wihout mushrooms...

...včera jsem se snažila sehnat v obchodech sušené houby...ale bezúspěšně...rozhodla jsem se tomu jěště dát šanci těsně před naší mezinárodní hodinou vaření, která nám měla začít ve 12:30...a měla jsem štěstí...ve Fotexu, supermarketu hned vedle školy, je měli...byly děsně drahý (díkybohu, že to neplatíme :-)...ale co by to bylo za českou "bramboračku" bez hub...

...the cooking experience was very exciting...my "potato soup" premiére was a success...it tasted just right...and the other Czech dishes...Sylva´s "potato pancakes" and Iva´s "fruit dumplings" were great as well...but that is only the Czech part...

...from the other countries we tasted:

...Belgium..."chocolate mousse" prepared by Manu, some kind of "sausages and mashed potatos with carrots" and "waffels" by Tim

...from Germany...typical "hot dogs" by Daniel

...the Denmark students made for us "cold bowl", typical "smorrebrod" and "sushi"...everything was delicious, however my favourite was the "sushi"...

...vaření bylo velmi napínavé...ale má "bramboračková" premiéra se vydařila...chutnala tak jak má...a ostatí české pokrmy...Sylviny "bramboráky" a Ivčiny "tvarohové knedlíky" byly také skvělé...ale to by byla jen česká část...

...z ostatních zemí jsme ochutnali...Belgie..."čokoládová pěna", kterou připravil Manu, "klobásy s bramborovou kaší s mrkví" a "wafle" od Tima

...z Německa...typické "hot dogy" od Daniela

...a nakonec dánští studenti pro nás připravili "studenou mísu", typický "smorrebrod" (obložený tmavý chlébů a "sushi"...vše bylo vynikající, nicméně "sushi" to u mě bezkonkurenčně vyhrálo...

...in the evening after digesting all the food we ate, Iva and Charlotte came for Pilates...then tired I went to bed...

...večer, po tom, co jsme vytrávily všechno to jídlo, Iva s Charlotte dorazily na Pilates...poté znavena ulehla jsem ve své lože...

Wednesday - aesthetic learning processes...when I looked up my schedule and saw what´s coming this morning I got scared..."I will have to use my voice and body"... I am not a big friend with music...understand doing it myself...oterwise I love it. Well, our teacher was very nice though. At first we stood in a circle around the piano and sang short songs and did a bit of claping and that kind of stuff...I could hide a bit behind the voices of my Erasmus friends...without that I´d be lost... Some songs were quite funny...e.g. the african song "Maculélé"....you can see a video of this one...I thought I would be worse...so don´t laugh...this is pretty good...

Estetické výukové metody…když jsem se podívala na rozvrh a viděla, co dnes přijde, dost jsem se vyděsila…“Budu muset použít svůj hlas a tělo“…s hudbou nejsem zrovna kamarád…rozumějte co se jejího vytváření týče…jinak ji mám moc ráda. No, ale naše profesorka byla velmi milá. Nejprve jsme stáli v kruhu kolem piana a zpívali jsme různé popěvky a trochu tleskali do rytmu…docela se mi dařilo schovávat se za své Erasmus přátele…jinak by to byl asi větší průšvih… Některé popěvky byly celkem legrační…např. africká písnička „Maculélé“…níže můžete shlédnout video záznam…myslela jsem, že to bude horší…tak se nesmějte…protože tohle ujde…

In this seminar we did much more than singing and dancing...we had to really think about the sounds and the music...first...we made up machines...my group (Daniel, Manu and I) we tried to put together a machine which we called "The clock and the pendulum"...I´m the pendulum, if you can´t guess...

V tomto semináři jsme ale dělali mnohem více než jen zpívání a tančení…museli jsme se skutečně zamyslet nad zvuky a hudbou…nejprve jsme vytvářeli stroje…má skupina (Daniel, Manu a já) jsme se pokusili dát dohromady stroj, který jsme nazvali „Hodiny a kyvadlo“…já jsem to kyvadlo pokud jste to ještě nepoznali…

However, my time came when we were supposed draw with crayons while listening to two compositions by the composer Modest Mussorgsky...Promenade 2 and 3 from Pictures of an exhibition. The last activity was to mime out a composition...all this was a great fun...I have used music in my art lessons before, but this was amazing and I will certainly let myself be inspired by all this...

Můj čas ale nadešel, když jsme měli barevnými voskovkami vystihnout dvě skladby od Modesta Mussorskyho…Promenáda 2 a 3 z Obrazů na výstavě. Nakonec nás čekalo provedení skladby pouze za pomoci mimiky a a pohybu…byla to fakt legrace…již před tím jsem použila hudbu v hodinách výtvarné výchovy, ale tohle bylo ´žasné a určitě se tím nechám inspirovat…

After lunch we met with the cooking class (students studying health and nutrition here at CVU) to agree upon what will we cook together in a fortnight to exchange some recipes from our countries...I will be making "Potato soup"...hope it will work out well...I have never done it before...cross your fingers, please...

Po obědě jsme se sešli se studenty, kteří zde na škole studují zdraví a výživu, abychom se s nimi domluvili, co budeme za čtrnáct dní vařit v rámci výměny našich „národních“ receptů…na mě vyšla „Bramboračka“…snad to dobře dopadne…nikdy před tím jsem jí totiž nevařila…tak mi, prosím, držte palce…

Sylvia, Charlotte, Iva and I we went to the gym today...to work out a bit...it was really good...then we went home to have a dinner and then back to school because there was a presentation on the topic "Using ICT during English lessons"...it was for 3 hours...but it was very interesting...we learned about new possibilities...and I again can use some of it in my practice....and very much look forward to it...

Sylva, Charlotte, Iva a já jsme po škole vyrazili do posilovny…trochu se zapotit…měli jsme pak skvělý pocit…pak jsme šli domů se rychle najíst, protože od 18:30 nás ještě ve škole čekala přednáška na téma „Využití ICT v hodinách angličtiny“…trvala 3 hodiny…ale bylo to velmi zajímavé…seznámili jsme se s novými možnostmi a i toto mohu využít v praxi..a celkem se i na to těším…
